The John Russell Gallery

The John Russell Gallery, situated on the Waterfront of Ipswich, has over forty years of expertise, specialising in the works of contemporary East Anglian painters and sculptors.

The Gallery's website, contains current and archive exhibition information and is updated regularly. A preview selection of images from the forthcoming exhibition is also available.

Exhibitions usually change every four weeks, and feature original paintings, prints and sculpture by established artists and up and coming talents. The Private View for each show is by invitation only.

Original Prints by our portfolio of printmakers are always held in stock. We can send images to those unable to visit in person and then dispatch your selection to you safely in a postal tube.

Framing is bespoke and to the highest conservation standards, where museum quality materials are used throughout. Trained staff will offer advice on the selection of mounts, fames and finishes.

Gift Vouchers, available to any denomination, may be put towards art purchases or framing, and make a perfect retirement or wedding gift. Do browse our selection of Art Cards and Art Books.

Restoration, including the cleaning, de-acidification and repair of works on paper and canvas, is carried out sympathetically and within keeping of the period. Free quotations given on request.

Group/Educational Visits are most welcome, whether primary children, high school art students or adult groups. Prior notice is required for groups of 10 or more, or if a structured visit is required.

Valuation for the purpose of insurance or probate is undertaken for both private and corporate clients. Where necessary, we will visit the home or business premises to access pieces in situ.

The artone Café lounge, located within the Gallery, provides a relaxing environment where visitors can enjoy freshly ground coffee and leaf tea in the surroundings of great art!

Art Consultancy, is aimed at both the individual and corporate client. We will visit to assess your art needs, and will hang or re-hang your existing art works to optimise space and impact.

Corporate Hospitality events for businesses or societies can be arranged for evenning or weekend private viewings, to include drinks, canapes and even live jazz if desired!
